material combination

From these things I discovered the possibility of new material combinations. The first item: Although I have seen the combination of ceramics and rattan on Instagram before, when I saw it in real life, I couldn’t help but be impressed by the wild beauty. The second picture is a combination of rattan and metal. This item uses metal like staples to fix the rattan, showing a richer effect than a single rattan. The third picture is a combination of ceramics and untreated branches, which looks very natural. The third picture is a vase formed by combining fabric and branches. Because I was recently working on a ceramic extrusion project and wanted to make outdoor furniture, it gave me the idea of using rattan to connect ceramic parts.



Newspaper & ceramic

Because I have been doing newspaper and ceramic works recently, I pay special attention to works made from magazines or paper. Their novel production methods inspired me a lot, which made me think that I could keep folding newspapers to make works like them. Through different shapes and sizes, I can show different works.


Textiles & Textures
These pieces remind me of what I'm trying to do in ceramic extrusion. For example, the golden braided metal in the picture may be the same for my ceramics. It makes more possibilities for my project.
