There are several processes from hemp, a plant, to fabric material. Chief among them is beating and combing hemp, a process very similar to sanding wood, and the more you do it, the finer the fabric becomes, until it finally feels like hair.
This process was also the first time I saw a loom. I learned a little bit about the principles of the loom, and there were fabrics made by cutting plastic bags into thin pieces on site. I have a little understanding of how companies like Nike make clothes made from recycled plastic.
