4. The Emotional Utilitarian

I go to the David Usborne’s collection exhibition, it is interesting that so many functional things with beautiful shapes. The original tools’ beauty reminds me of a quote. It mainly said that beauty will naturally comes from functionality. For creating a new design, sometimes I should not care so much about aesthetics. It is also one of the design principles for myself. Through the instruction of handbook, I can know the functions of things. Something is easy to tell. but something needs a while to figure out. I cannot hold it with hand, so I do not know how it feels when using. But the lesson gave me the chance to do it. I remmenber a cloth cutter. It looks like made by wood but actually metal, because of long time corrosion.
